BLOOD DONATION CAMP.
The blood donation camp was conducted at Maharishi Bala Mandir, Nehruji Nagar, Dindigul on December 13th, Saturday, 2008.. The blood donation camp started at 9:30 am with the arrival of the medical team of 8 members under Dr.R.SivaKumar, from the (Dindigul) District Government Headquarters Hospital.
As many as 60 donors attended the camp. The majority of the donors were from the school, including the Teachers, Parents of the children. After all the mandatory checkups 37 units of blood were collected including A1B+ , A1B-, A-. The blood donation camp created awareness about the importance of donating the blood among the students and also the parents. The medical team was happy about the smooth & hassle free proceedings of the blood donation camp. At the end of the camp the medical team was presented with a small memento by the Correspondent of the School.
CLOTH DONATION CAMP
A Cloth Collection/Donation camp was conducted by the association on January 13th, 2009. It was aimed at collecting the clothes from the rich and distributing it to the poor and the needy. The camp was conducted at Maharishi Bala Mandir. It saw a large number donors donating their clothes. However, for the ease of the donors it was extended up to 21st of January and the donors were asked to donate their clothes in the school itself. The camp was a success in gigantic proportions. More than 2500 bags of clothes were collected. (Damn! We had a busy time sorting them... It wasn’t easy!) The clothes were distributed in Seelapadi region near Dindigul.
The cloth donation camps at the primary schools in THETHTHUKKAADU (VETTUKKADU)and YEDAIYAPATTI (both near Senthamangalam, Namakkal district) were great successes. Distribution of clothes in those schools was carried out on 15th of March (Sunday). The students assembled in the school at about 9:30 hours and helped us in arranging and other preparations. The event started in Theththukkaadu at about 10:00 hours after a brief felicitation by the local authorities. More than 200 students received the clothes in the school. Also, poor & needy from the same area benefitted from the camp. The camp at Yedaiya patti started by 12:30. The distribution of the clothes went on smoothly. As many as 120 students from the school received clothes. We also distributed clothes to the villagers in the near by area. Pens and
snacks were also distributed to the students.
We would like to thank the School teachers and the ward members, who came to help us on sunday, despite it being a hoilday.
