Projects

Blood Donation

We started our activities with a blood donation camp. The camp was conducted on December 13th, Saturday, 2008 at Maharishi Bala Mandir, Nehruji Nagar, Dindigul. Ever since, the blood donation camp is a regular event in our calendar. Apart from conducting an yearly blood donation camp, our members rally volunteers for the cause. We create awareness among college students and introduce them to the joy of blood donation. Our members are regular and voluntary blood donors and have been working close with the government hospitals in Dindigul & Thiruchchirapalli. We will soon start the awareness activities in Coimbatore and Chennai too.

We also maintain a small database of blood donors in different cities. In case you are in need of blood, we may be able to help you. Also we need your help in this. So, kindly register with us

Cloth donation Camps

“Who said 13 is an unlucky number? We had many activities on 13th.”
When we started our trust and were legally ready for the activities we still lacked something. Alas, We didn’t have funds! In  our experience we always had known that India is a land of plenteousness. The problem was the disparity in the distribution of the wealth. So, we wanted to reduce this disparity. We started this with a cloth collection camp at Maharishi Bala Mandir, Dindigul. Again it was on the “13th of January” that we broke the jinx. We distribute the clothes to the poor & needy.

Gnana Olhi
The name “Gnana Olhi” means “Enlightening light”. We may not be able to change a “” into a “Kalhi Daasa” or a “” into a “Vaal Miki” but we can act as the “Bodhi tree” to the countless “Siddharthas” of our country in their strive to become “Budhdhaas”. We give micro-scholarships to the students who strive to get educated regardless of their poor financial status. We help them to acquire books and other stationeries, uniforms and also to pay their educational fees.
Gnana Hunt

The “Gnana Hunt” is a small activity day/Competition that we conduct in the government schools. The aims of the project are to introduce the government school students to competitions and to make them strive for success. Usually, we have a mixed bag of events including literary, arts and sports competition on the same day. We find the idea to be extremely effective as the goal of the event is achieved even with a minimal expenses & human resource. For a school of 100 students, We manage to provide prizes, freebies & snacks to all the students for a price as low as Rs2500/-. Also, the event requires only 10-12 volunteers which we easily get from the colleges.

The activity day is quite informative as we have a small presentation of some importance and a quiz during the prize distribution. In this way we ensure that everyone is a winner on the day.
